How pressure washing led me to floor coatings

I ran a small pressure washing business for years, and after cleaning that many garages and patios I got curious about what could go on top of all that concrete. So I learned coating work on an experienced installer's crew, then started Mainstay here in College Station in 2020. These days we're best known for garage floors, and our calls come from homeowners and from shop and business owners who need a floor that can take real use.

What I care about most is the work that ends up under the coating, because that's where floors fail. Concrete has a mind of its own, and no finish fixes a slab that wasn't ground, patched and cleaned right first. I'd rather talk you out of a job than put down a floor I don't think your slab can carry. Steady, honest work is how a small flooring contractor keeps getting calls in College Station, and you can see the rest of what we do on our home page.

What you can count on from us

  • Prep gets most of our time

Our crew spends more of the job grinding, patching and cleaning your slab than rolling on color, because that hidden work is what keeps a coating stuck down and looking right for years. It's also why our written estimates list the prep along with the finish, so you can compare quotes on what's really included.

  • The person who quotes it answers for it

I come out to look at your floor and give the estimate myself, so you're not dealing with a salesperson who never sees the job again. Our crew does the work with a lead installer on site, and I come back to walk the finished floor with you.

  • A straight answer about what you need

We'll match the floor to how the space really gets used, so you don't pay for a coating meant for a different kind of room, and if a smaller or simpler job will do, I'll say so even when it means less work for us. When you're ready to talk it through, get in touch and we'll set up a time to come look.

Licensing, insurance and permits

Serving College Station and two surrounding cities

  • Licensed and insured.

We carry both, and I'm glad to go over the details when I come out for the estimate, before anyone rolls a grinder into your garage. The work is also backed by our satisfaction guarantee.

  • City registration and permits

The City of College Station requires a contractor to register with it before it'll issue a building permit, though a homeowner can get a permit for the home they own and live in without registering. Each city we work in has its own building office, so before work starts we check with that office on whether your job needs a permit, take care of it when it falls to us and tell you what we found out before anything gets scheduled.
